Firearm Shipping & FFL Transfer Policy

At Citadel Guns , we strictly adhere to all federal and state laws regarding the sale and transport of firearms. Per federal law, we cannot ship firearms directly to your home. All firearm purchases made through our website must be shipped to a dealer who holds a valid Federal Firearms License (FFL).

How the FFL Transfer Process Works

Buying a firearm online is a safe and legal process when these steps are followed:

  1. Choose Your Firearm: Add your selected Citadel 1911 , Boss 25 , or other firearm to your cart and proceed to checkout.

  2. Select an FFL Dealer: During checkout, you must provide the name and address of a licensed gun dealer in your area who will receive the firearm for you. If you don’t have one yet, you can use one FFL Locator tool to find a shop or range near your zip code.

  3. Coordinate the License: It is the customer’s responsibility to contact their chosen dealer and have them email a copy of their FFL license to info@citadelguns.com . Please ensure they include your Order Number in the subject line.

  4. Shipment & Tracking: Once we have a verified copy of your dealer’s license, we will ship your firearm to their place of business. You will receive a tracking number via email as soon as it leaves our Reno, Nevada hub.

  5. The Pickup: When the firearm arrives, your dealer will process it into their inventory. Wait for the dealer to call you before heading to the shop.

At the Dealer: Background Checks & Fees

When you arrive at your chosen FFL to pick up your firearm, you will need to complete the following:

  • Federal Form 4473: You will fill out the ATF Firearms Transaction Record.

  • Background Check: The dealer will conduct a background check through the NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) .

  • Transfer Fee: Most dealers charge a fee for processing the paperwork and conducting the background check. This fee is paid directly to the dealer and typically ranges from $25 to $60 .

  • Identification: You must bring a valid, government-issued photo ID that matches the name on your order and displays your current physical address.

Important Terms & Conditions

  • Inspection Period: Please inspect your firearm thoroughly before completing the 4473 transfer. If the firearm is damaged or incorrect, do not complete the transfer. Contact us immediately, and we will arrange a return. Once the firearm is transferred into your name, it is considered “used” and cannot be returned to us.

  • Abandoned Property: Firearms not picked up within 30 days of arrival at the FFL may be subject to storage fees by the dealer. Please communicate with your local shop to ensure a smooth pickup.

  • Restricted States: It is your responsibility to ensure the firearm you are purchasing is legal in your state and city. If a firearm is returned to us because it is not legal in your area, a 15% restocking fee plus shipping costs will be deducted from your refund.
