Citadel Guns Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
At Citadel Guns , we want you to be fully informed before you make a purchase. Below is an extensive list of the most common questions we receive regarding our firearms, the ordering process, and technical maintenance.
General & Ordering Questions
1. How do I buy a firearm from CitadelGuns.com?
Buying a firearm online is a straightforward legal process. Because we are a federally licensed dealer, we cannot ship firearms directly to your home.
Step 1: Select your firearm (eg, a Citadel Boss 25 or Citadel 1911 45 ).
Step 2: During checkout, choose a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer near you.
Step 3: We ship the firearm to that dealer.
Step 4: You visit the dealer, complete your background check (Form 4473), and pick up your firearm.
2. Where are you located?
Our primary headquarters and logistics hub is located at 4674 Aircenter Circle, Reno, NV 89502 . While we operate as a major online retailer, all our stock is managed and shipped from our Nevada facility to ensure fast transit times across the country.
3. Can I change my order after it has been placed?
We strive to process orders as quickly as possible. If you need to change your FFL selection or update your contact information, please email info@citadelguns.com immediately. Once a firearm has been processed for shipment, changes may result in a rerouting fee.
Technical Product Questions
4. What is the “break-in period” for a Citadel Boss 25?
The Citadel Boss 25 is a high-performance, gas-operated semi-auto shotgun. Like many competition-grade semi-autos, it requires a break-in period to smooth out the action. We recommend firing 50 to 100 rounds of high-velocity ammunition (at least 1,300 FPS) during your first range session. This ensures the gas piston seats properly for future reliability with lighter loads.
5. Are Citadel 1911s compatible with standard aftermarket parts?
Yes. The Citadel 1911 series is built to standard Series 70 specifications. This means they are compatible with most aftermarket 1911 magazines (such as Mec-Gar or Wilson Combat) and standard 1911 grips, triggers, and internal components.
6. What kind of sights come on the Citadel PAT 12?
The Citadel PAT 12 comes standard with a Ghost Ring rear sight and a high-visibility fiber optic front sight . This setup is designed for rapid target acquisition in tactical and home-defense scenarios.
7. Does the Citadel Levtac 92 come with a rail for optics?
Yes, the Citadel Levtac 92 features a top-mounted Picatinny rail section, making it easy to mount red dots or scout scopes. It also features an M-LOK handguard for lights and lasers.
Shipping & Legalities
8. How much does shipping cost?
We offer competitive flat-rate shipping on all firearms. Accessories and magazines typically ship via USPS or UPS Ground. Exact shipping totals are calculated at checkout based on your location and the size of the order.
9. Do you ship to California, New York, or Illinois?
We ship to all 50 states; however, it is your responsibility to ensure the specific firearm is legal in your jurisdiction.
Example: The Citadel Boss 25 (magazine-fed) is restricted in certain states.
Note: We will not ship “high-capacity” magazines to states where they are prohibited. Please check your local and state laws before placing an order.
10. What if my firearm arrives damaged?
Inspect your firearm thoroughly at your FFL dealer before completing the transfer. If you notice any damage or defects, do not sign for the transfer. Contact us immediately at info@citadelguns.com , and we will coordinate a return and replacement. Once the transfer is complete and the gun leaves the dealer, it is considered “used.”
Maintenance & Support
11. How do I clean my Citadel 1911?
We recommend a field strip and cleaning after every 200–300 rounds. Because Citadel 1911s are made of 4140 ordnance steel , it is vital to keep a light coat of high-quality gun oil on the slide rails and barrel to prevent friction wear and oxidation.
12. Who handles the warranty for Citadel firearms?
Citadel firearms are backed by Legacy Sports International . Most models carry a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. If you experience a mechanical failure, we can help you coordinate with Legacy Sports for a repair or replacement.
13. My semi-auto shotgun is “short-cycling.” What do I do?
Short-cycling (failure to eject or feed) is usually caused by using underpowered “low-brass” birdshot before the gun is broken in. Switch to high-velocity buckshot or slugs for the first 100 rounds. If the problem persists, ensure the gas ports are clean and the firearm is properly lubricated.
